Happy Oak is a Vancouver-based ABA centre for families and for children with autism.
early intervention at the centre
We work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that your goals are part of the planning and development of your child’s program. Programs are individualised, meaning that they are tailored to each child’s specific needs. We focus on play and communication skills, pre-academics, attending and self-help skills.
social skills at the centre
We offer a variety of social skills programs for different age groups at the centre. Our social skills programs range from facilitated playdates to curriculum-based groups. Our behaviour analysts and program managers have spent many hours ensuring that specific skills are targeted each class using behavioural strategies such as prompting, modelling and positive reinforcement. Many of our groups teach pro-social behaviours, friendship development and assertiveness…and of course the kids get to interact, socialise and play while they learn!
our philosophy
It is within our philosophy to capture children's interests through play and use this as motivation to foster functional communication, independence, and social skills. We practice Applied Behaviour Analysis to ensure effective teaching strategies are used and scientifically validated principles are followed to ensure children at Happy Oak reach their maximum potential.
